LED MR16 ini biasa digunakan untuk mengganti langsung lampu halogen. Karena lampu halogen existing biasanya sudah dilengkapi dengan ballast untuk mengubah tegangan AC220V PLN menjadi DC12V, maka tinggal mengganti lampu halogen nya saja dengan lampu LED MR16 ini.
5W LED MR16 ini setara dengan kekuatan lampu halogen 50 Watt, sehingga tenaga yang digunakan hanyalah sepersepuluh daripada kekuatan semula.
